We do not just offer an invoice in the clearest way possible, but we also offer a service that is as complete as possible. Because our invoices are almost always ‘fixed-price’, you do not have to worry about excess costs. In the unlikely case that extra work is necessary, we will always inform you about this before the costs are made. That way we ensure that you always have a choice, and are not presented with it after the fact. And you are definitely not presented with it – as with some of our competitors – on the final invoice.

Although SEMM Concepts is currently mainly working in Europe, we have a lot of previous experience with international stands.

This experience was gathered in obvious countries such as the US, China, Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Bahrain but, more importantly, also in countries like Azerbaijan and even Iraq.

Building a stand in a country such as Azerbaijan or Iraq is very different from building a stand in Europe. In Europe a stand building company can make mistakes without this having a material effect on the end result. In a project in Azerbaijan or Iraq this is not possible. In order to deliver a succesful project in these countries, the whole process has to be done without mistakes. Nothing can go wrong because there is hardly any, or no, slack. If something goes wrong it leads to serious issues.

The attitude which is necessary in these countries, is one that we have adopted for all our work: avoiding problems instead of solving them. We are always looking critically at our own way of working and continually try to improve it.

Our project planning is tight and flexible at the same time. Because of our experience – since 1977 – we have been able to create an approach in which we can offer the client a lot of flexibility. If you want more time to think over certain aspects, or for example want to make changes in a relatively late stage of the process, this is usually – through good internal consultation – possible at SEMM Concepts. But, through our experience, we also know which parts of a project cannot be postponed. It is this knowledge which makes for a reliable planning which gives you, the client, the utmost flexibility.

Some stand building companies are big. Others are even really big.

In theory, this should mean that they can work more efficiently than ‘small’ stand building companies (‘economies of scale’ et cetera). Big companies can more effectively use division of labour than small stand building companies. It is also easier for them to invest in expensive equipment – such as CNC machines – and because of their size they can often arrange for more competitve prices with their suppliers.

Theoretically, a ‘big’ stand builder should be able to offer a better price than a ‘small’ stand builder.

Practice however often shows that big(ger) stand building companies charge (much) more than ‘small’ companies, for comparable stands.

Sometimes we hear that companies no longer ‘dare’ work with a small stand builder.

We understand the reasoning. Many small(er) stand building companies are indeed not – or insufficiently – aware of a number of (very) important issues.

Often small stand building companies are dependent on one, or a handful of, individuals. If these people are for example ill – or too busy – a client often notices the negative consequences of this.

SEMM Concepts is a small stand builder. ‘Small’ and ‘professional’ can – in our view – go together very well. Quality control and risk management are important to us. In order to guarantee a constant level of quality, we use set work methods. By thinking these methods through, we are also able to guarantee that we can be flexible.

By working with contingency plans we try and be prepared for unforeseen circumstances, and thus guarantee that we can deliver the requested quality of work in all situations.
